REMARKS ON STRATFORD NIGHTHAWKS TRAILS
JANUARY 13, 2021
At tonight's membership meeting our Trail Master announced the following.
Per a trails condition report...
Stratford Nighthawk trails have opened today Jan. 13, 2021.
Be advised...
Snow is minimal in the Connecticut Valley, along the rail bed and going into town. The higher elevations have more of a snow base but riding is spring-like conditions. Water bars and rocks maybe a hazard. Travel with caution. Groomer was out today grooming Corr.5 and 7. Grooming to continue towards Stratford Bog, Marquis Trail and Andritz as we move towards the weekend.
Accumulating snow of 5-8 inches predicted for Saturday into Sunday.
Ride safe and respectfully. Be aware of trail signage and sensitive areas.
**NOTE CLOSURE** Corr. 3 has a closure on Potato Hill. No thru way Corr. 3 South to Groveton. Corr. 3 South open to the Mag Trail. (1st left up hill after bridges) Potato Hill closed beyond this point.
Corr. 5N closes at Corr. 3N near Jonathan Pond. Use Corr. 7N to travel North to Stratford Bog and beyond.
COVID-19 Guidance
All snowmobile operators shall agree to the following universal guidance:
remain home if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19; and
keep a safe distance of at least 6 feet from other people visiting the park/campground at all times; and
wear a cloth face covering over mouth and nose to protect others when in locations where other consumers might be present (e.g. bathroom facilities)
Snowmobile Clubs must adhere to the Governor’s COVID-19 Guidance when operating on State owned or managed lands. Please read fully. They are encouraged to do the same on private land trails. Thank you for your cooperation.
January 6, 2021
Some of Pittsburg Ridge Runner's trails will open Friday am, 1/8/21. A map showing what is open will be posted and we will share as soon as we can.
Some of Swift Diamond's trails will open at the same time. The only connection they will have open is to Pittsburg trails so plan accordingly.
Please remember that the snow base is limited! Be prepared for early season conditions of exposed rocks and water, check ice for safety, stay to the right, and keep your speed down. It could be pretty busy and we want everyone to go home safely!
